I spent four years at the New York Times. One of my favorite projects had me working with The Times’s first race columnist, Tanzina Vega. She wrote and interviewed, I shot, produced and edited and together with some help we created a series that highlights all the amazing ways in which comedians are talking about color.
We met Issa Rae in her California studio before she went on to produce her HBO show.
She helped me carry my equipment to the car.
We also met, Harry Kondabolu, Kristina Wong and Lalo Alcoraz.
The series was picked up by over a dozen media outlets and viewed over 1 million times.
